G and M
I am as free as a bird lately because the kids I've nanny'd for for a couple years now are in Australia. Their trip is two weeks long and it's a been a week so far. I'm hitting that point where I'm beginning to truly miss them like crazy. I'm used to seeing them 5-6 days a week, so not seeing them has been quite the change. I am more than excited to see them when they get home, but until then I should embrace my free time. Off to the thrift stores now, have this picture of Gus and Paul to put a smile on your face.

A little lady with big insecurities.
I believe that every person on this planet would change at least one small thing about themselves if given the chance. It may not be huge, or necessary, but given the chance we would all do a little tweeking. For me, one of those big insecurities has been my Widow's Peak. Now, some of you may not know what a Widow's Peak is, but it is when the hair line comes down and meets at a point. Most commonly it's been seen in movies on Vampires and Werewolves...real cute, Hollywood. In high school I was dreadfully ashamed of my widow's peak and never let anyone see it. I was always so jealous of the girls who were able to tie all of their hair up in a tight ponytail. As I've grown up into the 21 year old that I am, I have slowly been trying to pull back the layers of all my insecurities and learn to accept them. So recently, I decided that even if it took a head scarf and a confident day..I was going to pull my hair back in a tight ponytail. So, I did. It felt so amazing. I know that not everyone who saw me thought it looked beautiful, but damnit if I didn't feel good. I know some days it feels impossible to love yourself, so slowly start working on one flaw at a time. These traits we deam "flaws" are what make you, you. They will be the reason someone falls in love with you. I am a firm believer in the idea that we are only as strong as our weakest points. And although we may not be able to make our "flaws" our strongest points...we can definitely at least make them stronger. Embrace a part of you today. Show it off. If you got it, flaunt it. And, my personal favorite....WERQ IT!

Finally
After a long time of consideration, I finally grew the balls to get straight bangs. I've been loving them so far.

H Burger
Lately it seems that my blog has been exclusively about food. But, I can't seem to help it! We've been in food heaven lately because it's almost my birthday which means I get to drag Paul around to any food place I want. This time it was H Burger. H Burger is another place that's super popular around "lady date" time, but has never made it to Paul and I's list. However, yesterday, that all changed. H Burger has one of the yummiest veggie burgers that I have ever had...it tastes completely different than any other one that I've had. They have two vegetarian options and I chose one called the Eden Burger. It was to die for. If you're ever in the Colorado area and are looking for a fun, but classy burger place I'd say go to H Burger! Hell, I will even meet you there! They also have the best Nutella shakes. Yes, I just said a NUTELLA shake. We ordered a small, but the waiter gave us a large....which, I never argue with more ice cream. It's safe to say that we were full...like, grossly, overwhelmingly, happily full.
Here are some pictures from our little date! I hope you're all enjoying your weekend!
By the way, I'm sorry there is no pictures of our actual meal. I always tell myself I'm going to take some, and then...well, my tummy gets a little too excited.

If you Snooze, you win.
I have a huge crush on this Bear of mine, and because of that I am constantly trying to take him on little dates. So, this lovely Thursday late morning I decided to take him to my favorite breakfast place. It's actually a miracle that we've never gone before, but I always end up going there on "lady dates" and then bragging to Paul about how great it was when I get home (RUDE, I know.) However, today was the day that I finally got to take him. Snooze is a wonderful little breakfast place with the cutest atmosphere and the best pancakes. I love pancakes. But, you know what I love even more than pancakes? Hash browns! Well, just potatoes. My important loves in life go Paul, friends and family, and potatoes. So, of course I got Blueberry pancakes and hash browns. Paul got a breakfast burrito, and he fell in love. It's always so fun to see Paul experience things for the first time. He gets the biggest, sweetest smile on his face and will talk about how great it is for the next (roughly) four hours. After we got breakfast we topped off the meal with a Captain Crunch Berry Frapp from Starbucks. Yum! It's our absolutely favorite thing to share. We basically spent the day in breakfast heaven. I hope you all have been doing well while I've been barely blogging...I know, I know. I'm still just new to it. I WILL get better.
I love you all more than pancakes!
(A Captain Crunch Berry Frapp is a Strawberries and Cream frappacino with two pumps, if a grande, of Toffee Nut and some Java Chips. Get it, and prepare to be amazed.)

Bee and me
As I'm sure a lot of you are aware of by now, Bri and I are really good friends. Ever since she moved back to Colorado from Texas she has been my go-to lady. I am so proud of her because she has been able to be such a wonderful and committed wife while her husband Jordan has been away at State Patrol school. Unfortunately, for me, it is time for Jordan to graduate (Congrats Jordan) which means that he and Bri will be moving 4 hours away to a city called Grand Junction. My heart is heavy because I know I will miss seeing her every week, but I'm so excited for her to start this new chapter of her life. I got to see Bri for the last time before she left yesterday and it was so much fun. We stayed up late (for her) talking about life and our pasts. She even made me pizza and rolo cookies (I'm sure you can imagine why I'll miss her.) The sweetest thing she did was buy me flowers for being "such a good friend" to her. This girl has such a big heart and I'm so thankful that she shared some of it with me. Lady friends, man, they're great.
Good luck, Bee. I love you bigger than my widow's peak.

Music Monday!
I have been listening to Johnny Flynn since high school. He's one of those musicians who just has such a specific and amazing voice that you can't help but be captivated. This video is actually the first video that I ever saw of him. I have been in love with it since. If you like Folk music, you'll like this. I think you should all give him a chance. Happy listening!
